More than a handy guy

Small jobs,
done like big ones.

Hiring someone for a small repair should not feel like a gamble. We are craftsmen who also take small jobs, and the smaller repairs get the same in-depth knowledge and care as everything else we do.

We find the real cause.

Rot, soft spots and peeling paint have a cause. We look past the symptom so the repair lasts, instead of covering it up.

We do it the right way.

A single board, a patch of drywall or a run of trim gets the same knowledge and care we bring to a full project.

We respect your home.

A clean, respectful work area, and communication along the way, including when something hidden turns up.

We stand behind it.

Our 5-year workmanship warranty covers repairs and replacements, subject to your project agreement.

What we fix

Small repairs
we take on.

This is the same kind of work we do on larger projects, at a smaller scale. Not sure if your repair fits? Ask. If it is not something we do, we will tell you straight.

Straight answers

Small repair questions homeowners ask first

Something else on your mind? Call or text (757) 585-4366.

Do you take small jobs?

Yes. Small repairs get the same free evaluation, written proposal and care as larger projects. If one small fix is all your house needs, we will tell you that.

What kinds of small repairs do you do?

Deck and railing repairs, rot and water-damage repair, drywall, trim, painting and finish carpentry, plus smaller door, window, siding and roof repairs. If your repair is not something we do, we will tell you up front.

Why not just a quote over the phone?

Because the problem you can see is not always the real one. A soft deck board, peeling trim or a stain on the wall usually has a cause you cannot see in a photo. We come out, find the real cause, and quote the actual repair in a written proposal instead of guessing at a ballpark.

Is small work covered by the warranty?

Yes. Our 5-year workmanship warranty covers repairs and replacements, subject to your project agreement. The details are in your written proposal.

What if you find more damage once the work starts?

It happens, especially with rot and water damage. If we find more than expected, we stop, show you what we found and talk it through with you before doing any extra work.

Who does the work?

Nathan Clark, our owner and founder, works with a team of skilled tradespeople and trusted subcontractors, and stays personally involved from the first evaluation to the final walkthrough.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Prosperity Home Improvement is licensed and insured: VA Contractor #2705193266. We are also veteran-owned.
